Wardrobes & storage from China

Plan storage around the contents, the room and the way doors and drawers open.

Define this part of the purchase

Separate freestanding storage from fitted cabinetry in the purchase schedule. For fitted work, identify who measures the site, approves the drawings and installs the finished products. Track changes through a single approved drawing revision.

OPPEIN’s walk-in-closet presentation shows a fitted-storage direction. Start your comparison with the belongings that need to fit: hanging garments, folded items, shoes and any accessible storage requirements. Ask for an internal layout and opening-clearance drawing before extending the chosen finish across other rooms.

Keep the category connected to the master schedule

Record the agreed quantities, selected options and any outstanding questions before accepting the final proposal. Use stable item references across the quote, drawings where relevant, inspection records and packing list. When a change affects another supplier or the destination installer, update the master schedule and obtain the necessary review.

Develop the practical specification

Approve movement as well as elevation

A wardrobe’s closed elevation shows its appearance; open-position drawings explain how it works. Review doors, drawers and pull-outs with the actual bed, wall and entrance positions. Ask the cabinet maker to resolve the geometry of the specified hardware. Internal accessories should be itemised rather than inferred from a styled photograph. A main bedroom and a guest room may share fronts while requiring different storage, so keep the room-specific internals visible in the schedule.

Coordinate finished measurements

Identify who measures the destination and which surfaces are included. A drawing based on unfinished walls or floors needs a stated relationship to the completed opening. Agree how fillers, finishing panels and site adjustments are handled, and keep that information with the installation scope. The correct approach depends on the actual cabinet and building. Where attachment or stability provisions are required, the responsible installer should use the appropriate instructions and project assessment rather than improvise from a catalogue image.

Retain hardware identities

Soft closing or full extension describes a function rather than a complete hardware reference. Request the actual manufacturer and model, with the application information used by the cabinet maker. Keep adjustment and maintenance instructions with the final compartment drawing. At handover, operate the agreed movements and document unresolved points against individual compartments. A precise reference helps the supplier identify a replacement runner, hinge or fitting without treating the entire wardrobe as one unidentified item.
