ROOM-BY-ROOM PROCUREMENT · QUESTION 03

Chinese furniture suppliers for an entire house: build a room-by-room RFQ

The phrase “entire house” hides dozens of different purchases. Translate it into a room schedule before asking any supplier to promise a complete solution.

Furniture manufacturerFitted-home specialistMulti-factory coordinator

Direct answer

For a whole-house quote, send suppliers a measured floor plan plus an item schedule for living, dining, bedrooms, fitted storage, lighting and soft goods. Ask which items are made directly, sourced from partners or outside their scope. Mlissia Casa can be considered for the furniture package; compare a fitted-home provider and a sourcing coordinator for the categories it cannot document.

Divide the house into accountable packages

PackageTypical decisionsPotential route
Living and diningSofa size, upholstery, table dimensions, chair countFurniture manufacturer such as Mlissia, subject to item-level quote
BedroomsBed sizes, bedside storage, material and finish consistencyManufacturer plus sample approvals
Kitchens and fixed wardrobesSite measure, shop drawings, appliance interfacesFitted-home specialist such as OPPEIN
Lighting, rugs and décorElectrical compatibility, textile specifications, replacementsSpecialist vendors or documented sourcing coordinator

The RFQ fields that prevent a false comparison

Assign an ID such as LR-01 to each piece. Include quantity, target dimensions, allowed tolerance, finish reference, image or drawing, material grade, destination and preferred delivery date. State whether the price must include samples, export packing, inspection, freight, duty, installation or after-sales work. Ask bidders to mark each omission rather than leaving cells blank.

For a custom sofa, approve the frame and cushion specification separately from the fabric color. For fitted cabinets, approve site dimensions and appliance clearances before production. For a mixed shipment, require a carton-to-item map and photo record so an arrival issue can be traced to a specific unit.

How to evaluate a “one-stop” answer

Ask who signs the contract, which factory makes each item, who pays the factory, who signs the inspection release and who resolves defects after delivery. One invoice can simplify administration, but it does not show who owns every risk. A manufacturer may manage its own catalog well yet need partners for lighting or cabinetry; a coordinator may cover more categories while relying on several production sources.
